Girard High School’s FFA Chapter competed at Ft. Scott in the Southeast District Career Development Event in Food Science Technology, Land Evaluation, and Nursery Landscape on Sept. 23, with the Food Science Technology teams taking first. 

Girard High School’s FFA Chapter competed at Ft. Scott in the Southeast District Career Development Event in Food Science Technology, Land Evaluation, and Nursery Landscape on Sept. 23, with the Food Science Technology teams taking first.  

The Food Science Technology A-Team, consisting of Keelie Curran, Kasie Elder, Megan Kichler, Micah Oehme, Shelby Hobbs, Katelyn Lewis, Ashley Little, and Katie Nepote, placed first as a team.

Keelie Curran placed first and Megan Kichler placed sixth individually.

Food Science Technology B-Team members Kenzie Curran, Lauren Davied, Haley DeGarmo, and Anissa Zagonel placed first overall.

Individually, Haley DeGarmo placed fifth and Anissa Zagonel placed seventh.

The Land Evaluation A-Team, consisting of Kaleb Belcher, Zach DeBusk, and Danielle Walsh, placed third overall in the competition.

The B-Team, comprised of Austin Egbert, Taylor Fox, and James Spieth, placed fifth overall with Austin Egbert taking eighth individually.

Logan Houk competed as an individual in Nursery Landscape.
