Pittsburg High School wrestling coach Scott Rieck returns five state qualifiers for the 2010-11 season.

However, the Dragons lost state qualifier Daniel Blair and 285-pound state champion Beau Bennett to graduation. In addition, Jeremiah Jones (103) will be lost because of an injury.

“As a team, we must enter each practice focused,” Rieck said. “We also need our seniors to step up and be leaders.”

Back for Pittsburg are three-time state placer Mario Corado (130), state placers Aaron Seybold (135), Brent Koehn (152) and state qualfiers Parker Fields (112), Austin Haake (119), Austin Winner (189) and Broc Bennett (285).

“We need to have all of the guys in the room to step up their game this year,” Rieck said. “We had a good season last year, but we could have done better.”

And, the focus for the Dragons is on the team, not the individual.

“This year, when the dust settles, if everyone reaches their personal goals, we should reach our goals as a team,” Rieck said. “Not one individual will make a difference and it will take the collective.”
