  • Chloe Sophia Barnes, 2-year-old daughter of Erica (DeMoure) and Philip Barnes, died at 9 p.m. Nov. 19, 2010 at her home in Minneapolis, Minn., after a lifelong battle with metachromatic leukodystrophy. She had been under special care and treatment at the Mayo Clinic, where she received a stem cell transplant Oct. 1, 2010.

  • Chloe Sophia Barnes, 2-year-old daughter of Erica (DeMoure) and Philip Barnes, died at 9 p.m. Nov. 19, 2010 at her home in Minneapolis, Minn., after a lifelong battle with metachromatic leukodystrophy. She had been under special care and treatment at the Mayo Clinic, where she received a stem cell transplant Oct. 1, 2010.
    Chloe, who was born July 12, 2008, is survived by her sister, Eva, 4, and parents Erica (DeMoure) and Philip Barnes of the home. She is the granddaughter of Gaylord and Ruth DeMoure, Girard, and niece of Dana (DeMoure) and Matt Umscheid, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Devin and Jan (Marshall) DeMoure, Liberty, Mo. Paternal grandparents are Steve and Rowena Barnes, Saint-Denis, France. Chloe was also the niece of Rachel Barnes, Saint-Denis, France, and Anna (Barnes) Corbett, Minneapolis. She has eight cousins.
    Her funeral was Nov. 23 in Minneapolis, with burial at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis.
    The family wishes to thank all of those who greatly supported Chloe through her battle with this disease. Thank you for the prayer and financial support Chloe’s family received during this time. Many were made aware of Chloe through the article “Seeking a Miracle” featured in Patrick’s People in The Morning Sun. Thank you for that.
    We sorrow now, but rejoice in the fact that through faith in Christ we can one day see Chloe again.
