    Current Medicaid or HealthWave consumers are invited to an educational meeting to help them pick the KanCare health plan best suited to themselves and their families from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Homer  Cole Center, 3003 N. Joplin.

    Pittsburg parade
    The City of Pittsburg Parks & Recreation Department would like to invite the community to enjoy the 33rd Annual Christmas Parade. The parade will start at 6:30pm. The parade route is down Broadway from 10th to 2nd street. Hot chocolate stands will be placed throughout the parade route as well for community members to enjoy.
    Please also note that Broadway will be closed from Rose to 14th Street starting at 5 p.m. to allow for preparations for the parade.
    Immediately after the parade completion, children are invited to visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus at Pritchett Pavilion at 2nd and Broadway; Santa & Mrs. Claus will be available to visit with children from approximately 7:30-8:30 p.m. Hot chocolate will also be available!  
    Guitar Club
    First Pitt Guitar Club will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays at the First Christian Church.
    All guitar players may attend. Groups will be available for beginners, for chording, soloing and other topics, which will change each week. Those attending should bring their guitars.

    Girard TOPS
    GIRARD — TOPS Group #0975, Girard, meets Mondays at the Girard Presbyterian Church. Weigh-in begins at 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.,  with the meeting following.
    All interested persons may attend. Yearly membership is $28 and monthly dues are $5.

    Frontenac card games
    Card games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday except holidays at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Building. Primary game is pinochle, but any card game is welcome.
    Snacks and beverages will be available. Anyone needing additional information may call 230-0707.
    TOPS No. 599
    TOPS No. 599 (Take off Pounds Sensibly) meets every Monday at College Heights United Methodist Church.
    Private weigh-ins are from 5:30 to 6:20 p.m. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are designed to provide motivation and support to help members reach their weight loss goals.
    Visitors are always welcome. Anyone needing additional information may call 620-719-7813.
    Alpha Kappa chapter
    Alpha Kappa chapter, Phi Tau Omega sorority, will have their November social at 6:30 p.m. at the Arma American Legion Hall. Members are asked to bring a salad and $1 worth of dimes to play bingo. Hostesses will be Carol Puckett and Steffie Peternell. Anyone unable to attend should contact one of the hostesses.
