Southeast Kansas Recycling Center, Inc., will have an e-waste recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Southeast Kansas Recycling Center, Inc., will have an e-waste recycling event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

E-waste includes computer hard drives, monitors, keyboards, televisions, microwaves, etc. The event will be free for all businesses, residents, schools, churches and non-profit agencies.

Those bringing e-waste should enter the facility through Gate No. 3 off Joplin Street. Anyone needing information may visit www.sekr.org.

Pittsburg Farmers Market
Pittsburg Farmers Market will open at 7:30 a.m. and run until noon or sold out at Second and Broadway.

This will be “Sampler Saturday,” with participating producers offering free samples of their products. The garlic is in, and Gary “The Spice Guy” Mevius will be grilling it up and serving free samples.

Pittsburg Police Department will be in the community booth with a D.A.R.E. car and information. Jim and Pat Harris will provide music. Potted lemon balm plants and Farmers Market T-shirts will be available in the information booth for a donation to the building market fund.

Available items will include blueberries, raspberries, potatoes, beets, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, yellow squash, onions, cucumbers, cabbage, radishes, turnips, Swiss chard, baby spinach, fresh mint, garlic, green beans, fresh herbs, washed, spun and bagged salad greens, raw honey, natural beef, pork, chicken and eggs, sprouted wheat bread, many flavors of pesto sauce, brewed fair trade coffee and teas, lavender lemonade, mint green tea, fresh pineapple and strawberry habanero jams, pieces, cinnamon rolls, cookies, cupcakes, muffins, artisan breads, jams, jellies, baked goods, day lilies, hardy ferns, ornamental grasses, shrubs, hostas, perennials, market totes, kitchen accessories, Adirondack and outdoor furniture, wooden benches, garden trellises, bird feeders, garden fences, bird, butterfly and bat houses, planter boxes, jewelry, journals, boxes, picture frames, greeting cards, hair bows, wilderness survivor bracelets, art and more.

The producer-only market accepts Vision, debit and credit cards. Anyone wishing to entertain at the market or use the community booth should call 2321-3835. Faith Lutheran VBS
“Space Station Salvation” will be the theme for Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1233 S. 220th Street.

Youngsters in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade may attend. Activities will include Bible studies, music, crafts and recreation. Lunch will be provided.

AHS Our Gang
ARCADIA — Arcadia High School Our Gang will have a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Arcadia Community Center.

All students who ever attended the Arcadia schools may attend these dinner meetings. Those attending should bring a covered dish.

Spaghetti dinner
ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will serve a spaghetti dinner, open to the public, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Menu will feature spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, tossed salad and dessert. Cost will be a $6 donation at the door. Carry-outs will be available.
