The Frontenac Raider girls overpowered the Galena Bulldogs 52-20 in a Class 3A substate first round game Tuesday night at Frontenac High School.

The Frontenac Raider girls overpowered the Galena Bulldogs 52-20 in a Class 3A substate first round game Tuesday night at Frontenac High School.

The Raiders led 12-4 after one quarter, 31-11 at halftime and 48-15 after three quarters, slowly building toward a blowout victory.

Sophomore forward Bailey Flora led Frontenac with 14 points and fellow sophomores Haley Wilson and Ryleigh McCartney each scored eight.

Frontenac (20-1) will face Southeast (13-8) in the semis on Friday. The Lancers defeated the Chargers of Cherryvale 38-29 Tuesday, outscoring Cherryvale 14-5 in the final quarter.

The Girard boys lost 78-48 to Coffeyville in a Class 4A substate game.
