Horses of Hope Riding Center, Inc., Baxter Springs, is expanding its therapeutic riding services in the Crawford County area.
A 10-week spring and fall session will be offered in 2009. The spring session started March 24, and will be available every Tuesday through May 26.
Horses of Hope offers therapeutic services to riders of all ages who are in need of physical, cognitive, social and/or emotional benefits from therapeutic activities with horses.
Each therapeutic lesson lasts one hour, and includes grooming, bonding, leading and therapeutic horseback riding. Fee is $75 per lesson. However, reduced rates may be available for clients who qualify for the Horses of Hope Scholarship Program.
Enrollment is limited, and only a few openings remain. Anyone wishing to enroll should call 620-674-3458 as soon as possible for the necessary medical release forms and, if necessary, scholarship applications.
Anyone interested in serving as a volunteer to help with the program, such as side walking or horse handling, should contact Vallerie Sweeton at Horses of Hope riding Center, Inc.
