St. Mary’s-Colgan golfer Kelley Thompson carded an 86 to place 14th overall out of 119 golfers at the Miami (Okla.) Invitational golf tournament Monday at Peoria Ridge Golf Course.

St. Mary’s-Colgan golfer Kelley Thompson carded an 86 to place 14th overall out of 119 golfers at the Miami (Okla.) Invitational golf tournament Monday at Peoria Ridge Golf Course.

Thompson put together a pair of 43 rounds to finish just nine shots off of individual champ, Cooper Craig of Joplin (Mo.) High School.

As a team, the Panthers finished fourth, 22 strokes behind team champion Joplin.

Pittsburg’s Johnny Randall finished 19th overall with a final score of 87.

The Dragons were 10th as a team in the 24-team tournament with a score of 367. They were just 12 shots behind Colgan.
Colgan’s Will Hudson finished two shots behind Randall with an 89 to place 22nd individually.

Charlie Sloan and Thomas VanBecelaere were 26th and 27th respectively, both shooting a 90.

Dragon golfer Jon Nichols also shot a 90 and placed 32nd individually.

A.J. Wenzel placed 52nd overall with a 94 and Colgan’s Stu Mitchelson shot a 96 to place 56th.

Andrew Joy was 60th overall for Pittsburg High with a 96 and teammate Michael Hudiberg was one shot back with a 97 to place 64th.
