Pittsburg police are seeking information regarding an apparent hit-and-run accident that occurred early Sunday morning.

Pittsburg police are seeking information regarding an apparent hit-and-run accident that occurred early Sunday morning.
According to a press release sent out Tuesday, 21-year-old males Troy Whetzell, of Frontenac, and Jeff Martin, of Pittsburg, were injured in the incident that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday. Officers reported to the 800 block of West Fourth Street in reference to a hit-and-run incident.
Upon arrival, officers noticed Whetzell lying in the eastbound lane. He was apparently struck by a vehicle, according to police. He was transported to Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Martin also was found with injuries and was treated at Mt. Carmel.
The suspect vehicle, according to police, was described as a light-colored SUV, driven by an unidentified male. The vehicle reportedly left the scene prior to the officers' arrival.
