Martha Jean Burrows, 78, a long time Carthage resident   passed away on November 23, 2010 in Joplin.  She was born on January 19, 1931, in Pittsburg, Kansas.  Martha was the daughter Glenn W. Jones and Martha L “Wirt” Jones. She had worked at the Fast One Hour Cleaners for several years.  Martha was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association of Carthage.

Martha married Gail Burrows on May 28, 1949 in Pittsburg, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on November 19, 2005.

Martha is survived by one son Michael Burrow of Carthage, and three daughters, Kristi Vogt of Frontenac, KS., Debbie McMillen of Joplin, MO., and Kelly Thomas Joplin, MO.; one sister Kay Wiele  of Oronogo, MO, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Martha is preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Goss, her parents and her husband.

Memorial Services will be at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2010 at the Crossroads Baptist Church, Carthage. Body was taken for cremation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
