  • Here are five things to know about the second debate between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
    1. The debate is from 9-10:30 p.m. EDT on Tuesday. It is being held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
    2. The topic will be domestic and foreign policy. The first debate just covered domestic issues, and the third debate (Oct. 22) will focus on foreign issues.
    3. The format will be town meeting style. This is a more informal style of debate, and one that allows audience members to participate in the debate. The audience is selected by the Gallup Organization and will consist of undecided voters.
    4. Candy Crowley of CNN will moderate the debate.
    5. Pundits agree this debate is crucial to Obama. Romney got a bump in the polls after the first debate because of his performance, and Obama was seen as lackluster.
