  • Here's what happened Tuesday night at the second presidential debate:
    - As expected, President Barack Obama came out aggressive. Six minutes into the debate he launched his first attack on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, accusing him of wanting to let the auto industry fail.
    - The debate proved more testy as well, with both candidates interrupting each other. At one point Romney told Obama, "You'll get your chance in a moment, I’m still speaking."
    - Women's issues were covered on several fronts, including equal pay and abortion. Obama brought up abortion in a response to another question, so Romney didn't have time to say much on the topic. Obama said, “Gov. Romney feels comfortable having politicians in Washington decide the health care choices that women are making. I think that’s a mistake." Romney responded, “I don’t believe that bureaucrats in Washington should tell someone whether they should use contraceptives or not.”
    - Obama fit Big Bird into the debate, saying, "We haven’t heard from the governor any specifics beyond Big Bird and eliminating funding for Planned Parenthood."
    - Former President George W. Bush was a topic, as an audience member asked Romney how he differed from Bush. He said, “I’ll crack down on China. President Bush didn’t … I’m going to get us to a balanced budget. President Bush didn’t."
    - Quotes of the night: -- "More debt and less jobs. I'm going to change that. I know what it takes to create good jobs again." - Romney    -- “Gov. Romney doesn’t have a five-point plan, he has a one-point plan, and that plan is to make sure that folks at the top play by a different set of rules.” - Obama
