Speaker will be Jenna Stout, who will share her experiences schooling the children of Haiti.

Computer class
Pittsburg Public Library will offer a free public computer class from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the PPL computer lab.

Topic will be Microsoft Word, a word processing program. Participants will be taught to set margins, change fonts, spell check, select text, save and delete files. There will also be time for questions. Anyone needing additional information may call the computer lab at 230-5559.

Opolis VBS
OPOLIS — Opolis Christian Bible Church will offer Vacation Bible School for children aged 3 to 12 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through July 1.

The VBS will have a western theme, “Are You Ready for the Roundup?” focusing on the question, “Are you ready for heaven?” There will be music, and a genuine cowboy is scheduled to tell the youngsters about a roundup. Supper will be served every night at the Cowpoke Cafe.

During craft time, youngsters will make stick horses to ride in a family night rodeo on July 1. There will also be a balloon release, and children will get a balloon for every Bible verse they memorize.

Teen movie
Pittsburg Public Library will present “Monday Nights at the Movies,” a free program for young adults from those entering seventh through 12th grades.

At 6 p.m. each Monday  through July 25 the library will present a popular movie chosen by the Young Adult Advisory Council, shown on a big screen with a theater quality sound system. This week’s feature will be based on the first half of the book “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” by J.K. Rowling. It is rated PG13.

Frontenac card games
Card games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. every Monday except holidays at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Building. Primary game is pinochle, but any card game is welcome.
