K-State Research & Extension is offering a Youth Sewing Camp at the Crawford County Extension office located at 120 E. Buffalo in Girard during the week of June 8th thru 12th. This is offered to youth ages 10 to 14.

This week-long program is from 8:30am to 11:30am for first year participants. Second year participants and those youth ages 13-14 are invited to attend the afternoon session from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Cost of the program is $10.00. Register early as class size is limited. Participants will need to bring only basic sewing supplies. Fabric and sewing machines are provided. Previous sewing skills are not needed as this is a basic level class. The youth will be constructing an item for themselves and also contributing to a community project for Ronald McDonald House.

This program is co-sponsored by the Mid-America Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. Adult volunteers are also needed for the program. To register a youth for this program or for additional information, please call the Crawford County Extension office at 620-724-8233.
