Dear Editor
Cheney and his family are out doing TV talk show circuit, playing on his supporters fear of prisoners who have been securely held for years. It has been reported that the republican party decided this would be their wedge issue during the last election cycle. Their studies must have indicated that those remaining as republicans, are susceptible to mass paranoia. It must be too difficult to come up with something that is constructive for the country.
These prisoners will be in a maximum security prison, segregated from the general population. The prisons built in secluded areas, amongst a population who are well armed, and capable of defending themselves, and do not frighten easily. Under those conditions, that would make it impossible for the prisoners to recruit more terrorist as the GOP has been repeatedly hammering away at.
Apparently, they best not build a prison near Topeka, Kan. Pat Roberts already said he is not going “to have them in his backyard.” I guess that would frighten him, and Mrs. Roberts would have to look every night under his bed to calm his fear so he could sleep. She probably refuses doing that.
What amazes me, consumed by fear as they appear to be, they still insist on sending another’s child into Iraq and harms way for months at a time, over and over, and over again. Have they no shame?
