After leading the Pittsburg State women’s cross country team to their second consecutive meet win last week, senior runner Brittney Graff was tabbed as the MIAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Graff won the individual title at the SIU-Edwardsville Invitational last Friday by spearheading a 1-2-3 finish for the Gorillas.

Graff, from Eudora, finished the 6-kilometer race in 22 minutes, 24.69 seconds helping Pitt State score a meet-low 25 points, beating second-place Missouri Southern by 12 points in the Gorillas’ final race before next week’s MIAA Championships.

On the men’s side, Central Missouri sophomore Laban Sialo was picked as the league’s Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.

Sialo won the individual title at the Graceland Yellowjacket Classic with an 8K time of 24:51. It was the second first-place finish of the season for Sialo. His victory helped Central Missouri earn the team championship as well.
