“After we started having people working in here to clean up the theater, they started talking about having feelings here, asking if we have ghosts here,” said Vonnie Corsini, director of the Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation.

Paranormal investigations have been carried out several times at the theater, most recently by Nick Corey and his team from Jasper Haunts Paranormal, Joplin. They use cameras, thermometers, night vision cameras and other technology to carry out their investigations.

“We have found human spirits here, orbs, EVP (electronic voice phenomena) and skyfish,” Corey said. “I don’t necessarily say that the theater is haunted, because I think spirits are everywhere.”

He and his team led two Halloween eve tours at 10 p.m. and midnight Saturday in the theater. Sponsor was Tony Ferguson, AKA T-Bone, who has a show, “Dimension X,” at 10 p.m. each Sunday on 103.5 Radio.

“We worked with Vonnie on the Friday Night Flix series, and we started talking about tours that could be fun to do,” Ferguson said.

Jasper Haunts contacted Corsini, and plans for the tours were put together in about 12 days.

Corey came with his team Oct. 16 and said they found evidence of spirit energy, then came a few days later to confirm it.

Corey explained that he believed the energy was not residual, which would be like an echo and therefore would be the same each time it was recorded.

“This is active energy,” he said.
