Havlik, Sister Oswald, CSJ, age 89, entered eternal life October 24, 2010. The daughter of Anton and Leopolda Stary Havlik, Patricia was raised in Tampa, KS. She entered the Congregation of St. Joseph in1937 and received the name Sister M. Oswald. During her 66 years of active ministry, Sister Oswald served at St. Ann’s Home, Oklahoma City, OK; St. Joseph Home for Children, El Dorado, KS; St. Mary Cathedral Convent, Wichita; St. Mary of the Plains Academy, St. Mary of the Plains College; and the Bishop’s residence, Dodge City, KS; Ponca City Hospital, Ponca City, OK; Mercy Hospital, Parsons, KS; St. Rose Hospital, Hayward, CA; and Mt. Carmel Medical Center, Pittsburg, KS. In addition to the members of her religious community, Sister Oswald is survived by her brother Laddie of Kanapolis, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and five brothers. Wake 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27; Mass of Christian Burial 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, both at the Wichita Center of the Congregation of St. Joseph, 3700 E. Lincoln, Wichita, KS.
