  • Larry Goldsmith and Cynthia Morrison recently formed Goldsmith, Morrison and Associates, LLC, a full-service marketing and media firm based in Parsons.
For Goldsmith, this is the latest venture in a highly varied career. An Altamont native, he began his 35-year career with stints at southeast Kansas newspapers, including several years as a Pittsburg Morning Sun photographer.
He has also worked in music, medicine, golf and greeting cards. Most recently he was director of marketing at Labette Health, Parsons, and before that served as head of creative development and communications at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
“I got interested in shooting video when a friend loaned me a video camera to take on a medical mission to Guatemala in 2001,” Goldsmith said in an e-mail. “While we were there, an earthquake killed several thousand people in neighboring El Salvador. We sent in two teams of doctors. I spent two weeks shooting earthquake relief activities and sending tapes back by courier to TV stations in Kansas City.”
He is currently on the board of directors of Children’s Library International, a nonprofit organization that has built approximately 40 American-style public libraries in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
Closer to home, Goldsmith serves on the Downtown Parsons board of directors and chairs its Business Enhancement Committee.
A central Kansas native, Morrison was formerly an advertising account executive at the Parsons Sun and director of marketing and resource development at Good Samaritan Parsons. She was previously executive director of the Kansas Downtown Development Association, executive director of Hotline, a regional nonprofit crisis resource organization, and director of marketing for Salina Community Theatre.
Morrison has raised, trained and showed performance pleasure horses throughout the Midwest for many years.  Since moving to Parsons she has been active in several church, civic, cultural and social organizations.
Services provided by Goldsmith, Morrison and Associates, LLC, include television and radio commercials, industrial and fundraising videos, print advertising, billboards, magazines, newsletters and direct mail projects.
“Drawing on our nonprofit backgrounds, we also offer management services for nonprofit organizations, as well as fundraising and event management,” Goldsmith said.
    The firm’s offices are at 115 S. 18th Street, suite 212, Parsons.
