Beatrice “Bonnie” Lavon Johnson, age 92 passed from this life Monday, January 30, 2012 at Maude Norton Hospital, Columbus, KS.

Bonnie was born December 26, 1919 in Sherwin, KS on the family farm to the union of John N. and Lucy Leah (Masters) Ball. She was united in marriage to Clarence J. Tedlock in 1940. He preceded her in death January 19, 1970. She then married Robert W. Johnson April 1, 1976. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Bonnie worked as a meat wrapper for the former Charlie’s IGA. She cooked for a short time at the Columbus schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Columbus, KS, where she was very active in the church such as vacation Bible School and other activities. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for her quilting and baking pies. The one thing she loved most was spending time with family and friends especially the grandchildren.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters Ruth Ketterman and husband John of Pittsburg, KS, and Shirley Bolen of Columbus, KS; two sons Larry Tedlock and wife Twila of Columbus, KS. And Danny Tedlock and wife Judy of Columbus, KS; eleven grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Pastor Warren Stanton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery.
