Aglow Lighthouse

Pittsburg Aglow Lighthouse will meet at 6:30 p.m. for an outreach of praise and worship at Carrington Place, 1909 E. Fourth. Members will sing, share testimonies, scripture and lift up the name of Jesus.

Pittsburg Aglow Lighthouse will meet at 6:30 p.m. for an outreach of praise and worship at Carrington Place, 1909 E. Fourth. Members will sing, share testimonies, scripture and lift up the name of Jesus.

Following the service, those who helped with the outreach will have a fellowship time at Braums.

Music night
Music and dance night will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Homer Cole Community Center, 3003 N. Joplin. Area and local musicians provide music for dancing and listening.

There is a $1 cover charge, and refreshments are potluck. Beverages are provided by the center.

Music and dance night is held on the second Wednesday and fourth Tuesday of every month. Anyone needing additional information may call the center at 231-9337.

Tristatesmen Chorus
JOPLIN, Mo. — Tristatesmen Barbershop Chorus welcomes men to join in an old fashioned barbershop sing at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the First Community Church, 15th and Murphy Blvd., Joplin, Mo.

ARMA — Arma American Legion Post 182 will sponsor bingo, open to the public, at the post home.

Elks bingo
Elks Lodge No. 412 will host bingo at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 6 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Sunflower Kiwanis
Sunflower Kiwanis Club will meet for breakfast at 6:45 a.m. in dePaul Hall, Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center. George Graham, club president, will conduct a short business session after breakfast.

Darlene McLaren, program chairman for the day, will introduce member Patty Nicholas. The program will feature the “History of Fiddling.”

Lions Club
Pittsburg Lions Club will meet in the Sheriden Room at Mt. Carmel starting at 5:30 p.m., with Amanda Sheets presiding. Program will be presented by Tom Zerr, Pittsburg Middle School Technology Teacher.

Girard blood drive
GIRARD — American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Hall. All types of blood are needed.

The bloodmobile visit will be hosted by the Girard Medical Center Auxiliary.

Frontenac Rotary
Frontenac Rotary Club will meet at noon in the Bosco Center, located in the basement of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Frontenac. Speaker will be A.C. Moncrief, Rotary district governor.

Rotary will offer a lunch buffet for $7, which includes beverage. Greeter will be April Wilkes, and fulfilling duties as sergeant at arms will be Buddy Benelli.

Franklin card party
FRANKLIN — Weekly card party will start at 1 p.m. at the Franklin  Community Center and Heritage Museum.

A variety of games will be played, depending on the number of participants. Possibilities include poker, bridge, hearts, pitch, pinochle and 31.

Watermelon feed
Crawford County Democratic Party will host a free watermelon feed for everyone at 5 p.m. outside the commercial pavilion at the Crawford County Fair.

Local elected officials will cut and serve the melons and be available to visit with the public.

Legion bingo
Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 will host bingo night, open to the public, at 6:30 p.m. at the post home, 2815 N. Joplin.

Canteen will open at 5:30 p.m. and feature burgers, chicken strips and sandwiches.
