Dan was born Dec. 5, 1952 in Pittsburg, KS, the son of Nelson and Eloise (Brodie) Corporon.  He graduated from Pittsburg, KS High School, attended PSU and graduated from Crowder College with an Associates degree.  While in high school, he worked as a reporter for the Pittsburg Sun and at several radio stations in Pittsburg.  He started as an anchor for CBS in Dodge City, KS and at the age of 19, was the youngest anchorman in the U.S.  He then worked as an anchor in Odessa, TX, where he also began a sales career at a radio station in Odessa.  He moved to Neosho and worked in sales for KBTN, then as sales manager at the Neosho Daily News and currently owned and operated, Dan’s Business Directory. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Venture Club. Dan and Phyllis (Riggs) were married on Aug. 21, 1976 at Sterling, KS and she survives of the home.  Additional survivors include a son, Mickey Corporon, New York City, NY; his parents, Nelson and Eloise Corporon, Joplin, MO; two brothers, Tom Corporon, Lexington, MO and Andy Corporon, Branson, MO and numerous nieces and nephews. 
The body has been taken for cremation and memorial visitation and services will be held on Sat., Aug. 1, 2009 at Clark Chapel of Memories.  Visitation will begin at 10 am and the memorial service will follow at 11 am, Dr. Jerry Seigel and Mark Bridges will officiate.  Contributions in memory of Dan may be made to Crosslines Ministry, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO  64850.
