Dear Editor
I want to say a big “Thank you” to Mary Kay Caldwell, President of the Humane Society of Southeast Kansas, here in Pittsburg.
On July 6, my husband Larry and I had to go to Omaha, Neb., for his liver transplant evaluation. We were gone four days. Mary Kay offered to take care of my house cats, and outdoor cats for me. She came to my house twice a day, fed the house cats, watered and changed their boxes, made sure the air condition was on so they didn’t get to hot. She also fed and watered the outside cats for me.
When we returned home Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. ,there was a note on the coffee table to call her. She brought over a lovely hot dinner for us, so we didn’t have to worry about cooking. Thanks Mary Kay for being so thoughtful.
Mary Kay takes care of cats that no one wants any more. She feeds them, waters, provides shelter, and sees they are spayed and neutered. She does this spring, summer, fall and winter without fail, and no compensation, because she loves Gods little creatures.
I just want to say “Thank you” Mary Kay and let people know about your great work.
Nikki Patrick, take notice of this great lady in Pittsburg that gives her all for her love of Gods little creatures.
