Tedda “Tela” Lee Jackson, 79, of Pittsburg, died at 4:25 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.

Tedda “Tela” Lee Jackson, 79, of Pittsburg, died at 4:25 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 13, 1929 at rural Columbus, KS, to Ted and Albertine Lucky Robinson. She attended high schools in Chanute and Iola and later graduated from Pittsburg State University.
On September 5, 1948, she married Carl J. Jackson, Jr. at the First Christian Church in Pittsburg. He survives at the family home.
Mrs. Jackson was a volunteer for the Southeast Kansas Humane Society for many years, where she was a true advocate for the pets.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dr. Gary Jackson and his wife, Dr. Vickie S. Williams, of Ruidoso, New Mexico; her daughter, Vicki Willard and husband, Mike of Olathe, KS; four grandchildren, Jennifer Unruh of Springhill, KS, Michael Willard, Jr. of Olathe, KS, Heather Jackson of New York, and Elizabeth Jackson of Ruidoso, NM; and two great-grandsons, Jerod and Jacob Unruh of Springhill, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (April 28) at the Brenner Mortuary with Rev. Jason Poznich officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Highland Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the SEK Humane Society.
