The Lee Summitt, Mo. hurler scattered four hits and retired eight straight from the third to the fifth inning en routh to his team-leading fifth victory as the Bearcats knocked off PSU 9-0 in seven innings.
Pitt State rebounded in the second game and got home runs from Brett Hothan, Ben Ahrens and A.J. Loyd to top Northwest 10-9 in 10 innings in the second game.
In the first game, the Bearcats got on the board first after Ryan Bledsoe hit a single to the left scoring Chris Benham. In the fourth, the Bearcats scored four more to give Harvel a larger margin on the hill. John Henne Jr. plated Brandon Kirsch on a double and Bledsoe drove in Jake Bradshaw to complete the frame.

Pitt State stranded six runners and got hits from Taylor House, Loyd, Nick Giuliani and Patrick Martin.
The Gorillas found their bats in the second game when they took a 3-1 lead with a pair of runs in the fourth inning.
Martin hit a fly to center field that was mishandled allowing Giuliani to score from third and Hothan from second.
Northwest tied the game in the fifth with three runs on a single from Bradshaw and a wild pitch.
Pitt State broke the game open in the sixth with five runs after Hothan and Loyd led off with back-to-back doubles. Taylor Sibala hit a single scoring Loyd and Ben Ahrens cranked a three-run home run to score Sibala and Luke Naccarato. House followed with a triple down the right field line but was left stranded after Brian Dean struck out to end the inning.
The Bearcats cut into the lead when they got a two-run home run from Henne Jr. and added another run in the seventh.
Northwest was able to tie the game with three runs in the bottom of the ninth.
After Martin led off the top of the 10th with a single, the next two batters grounded out then Ahrens came up big with an RBI single to right to score Martin and give the Gorillas a 10-9 lead.
In the bottom of the 10th, Jason Porta would strand a leadoff single by Benham in the bottom half to pick up the save.
The Bearcats and Gorillas will finish their four-game set today with a doubleheader starting at noon.
