A breakfast club for Alzheimer’s caregivers will meet at 9 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church. The group offers an opportunity for caregivers to talk with others who share similar issues while having a free breakfast. Anyone may attend who serves as a family caregiver to a person with Alzheimer’s or a similar dementia.
Anyone wishing to register or needing additional information may call the Alzheimer’s Association Southeast Kansas Regional Office in Parsons at 620-421-6550, ext. 1794.
Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Program will be presented by Clara Wehrman and Maddie Weidert.
Joe Beauchamp will serve as cashier and greeter. Jim Snyder will give the invocation.
CHEROKEE — Cherokee Senior Citizens will meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Cherokee Community Building.
A lunch of fried chicken and bread will be served, and those attending should bring a side dish or dessert. Any person 50 or older may attend.
Local 14, District 12, United Mine Workers of America, will meet at 1 p.m. at the Homer Cole Community Center. All UMWA members may attend.
Low Vision Group
Page 2 of 3 - Pittsburg Low Vision Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. at Via Christi Village. A representative of NANOPAC will demonstrate different magnifiers to assist those with visual impairments.

McCune Alumni Steering Committee will meet at Chicken Mary’s. Dinner and fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business session. Carolyn Michael, president, will preside.
Planning will proceed for the banquet and program at the all-school reunion on Sept. 28.

Mission of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is to support members as they take off and keep off pounds sensibly. The organization offers an Exchange program with no special foods to buy and weekly private weigh-in. Annual membership is $28 for adults 18 and older.
