  • Early hours accident injures one

  • In the early morning hours on June 19, the Frontenac Police Department made contact with Kyle Shaw, 31, of Mulberry.

    In the early morning hours on June 19, the Frontenac Police Department made contact with Kyle Shaw, 31, of Mulberry.

    Shaw advised that he had been involved in a single-vehicle accident at an unknown location in Crawford County.

    The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was notified and responded to the area shortly after 5 a.m., where the found the site of the accident 0.1 mile south of 610th Ave. on 240th St. 

    A gray 2007 Chevy Impala belonging to Tammy Shaw, 53, of Mulberry, had been traveling northbound on 240th St. when it lost control and left the west side of the roadway. 

    Upon leaving the road, the vehicle traveled through the west ditch and a barbed wire fence belonging to Kurt Terlip of Frontenac, and came to rest in a creek on the property.

    Jeffrey Hunter, 25, of Arma, was found in the vehicle.

    Shaw was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was uninjured. 

    Hunter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and sustained possible severe injuries. He was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Crawford County EMS. 

    The accident remains under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff Department.
