Dr. Steve Scott, Pittsburg State University provost and vice president for academic affairs, announced this week that Dr. Lynette Olson, dean of PSU’s College of Arts and Sciences, has accepted his request to serve as interim provost and vice president for academic affairs for the coming year. Scott will assume his new role as president of PSU beginning July 1. The provost is the chief academic officer of the university.

“We are fortunate that someone with (Dr. Olson’s) experience and commitment to Pittsburg State University has agreed to assume this critical role,” Scott said in an e-mail announcing the appointment.
