Menus for Pittsburg and Senior Services
Pittsburg Community Schools USD 250 will provide the Summer Food Service Program for Children, a federally funded program operated nationally by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Child and Nutrition and Wellness Department of the Kansas State Department of Education.
Breakfast and lunch meals will be provided free for children ages 1-18. Adults may eat at a cost of $2.25 for breakfast and $3.25 for lunch.
Meals will be served from June 1-July 31 at Westside Elementary School and Pittsburg Community Middle School, as well as July 6-31 at Meadowlark Elementary School.
Hours will be as follows: Westside, breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon; PCMS, breakfast from 7:30 to 8:309 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Meadowlark, breakfast from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
All meals are served with milk. Breakfast menus for the week of June 1 at Westside and PCMS will be as follows:
Biscuit and gravy, juice.
Peanut butter and jelly, juice.
Pancake on a stick, juice.
Breakfast burrito, juice.
Lunch menus will be as follows:
Hot dog on bun, pork and beans, mixed vegetables, sliced pears.
Ham and cheese sandwich, fresh veggies with dip, sliced peaches, Elf Grahams.
Pizza choice, tossed salad, corn, mixed fruit.
Chicken sandwich, French fries, peas, fresh fruit.
Peanut butter and jelly, cheese stick, Sun Chips, veggie sticks with dip, rosy applesauce.
Senior Services Nutrition Center, 3003 N. Joplin, serves lunchtime meals which are open to any person 60 or older.
Participants are asked to make reservations for lunch one day in advance. A donation of $3 per meal is suggested.

Sweet and sour chicken, rice, peas, blushing pears, bread and margarine.
Shredded pork with bun, confetti corn, mixed fruit, cookie.
Baked potato with chili/cheese topping, lettuce salad with dressing, crackers, apple raisin crumble.
Turkey stroganoff, noodles, seasoned green beans, peaches and strawberries, bread and margarine.
Chili sweet meatballs, Spanish rice, mixed vegetables, Irish applesauce, bread and margarine.
