Pittsburg Police Department, along with the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS responded to the 300 block of W. Cleveland at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an injury accident involving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Ashlee White, 21, Pittsburg, and a 3-year-old child from Pittsburg.

Pittsburg Police Department, along with the Pittsburg Fire Department and Crawford County EMS responded to the 300 block of W. Cleveland at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an injury accident involving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Ashlee White, 21, Pittsburg, and a 3-year-old child from Pittsburg.
According to witnesses, the child was walking across Cleveland Street holding an adult’s hand and the child pulled away from the adult and ran back out into the street. The Pontiac was eastbound on Cleveland Street and the child ran into the side of the car.
White advised that she was not moving when the child ran into the side of her car. The youngster was transported to Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center by Crawford County EMS, and was later released in good condition, according to a Mt. Carmel representative.
The accident is still under investigation by the Pittsburg Police Department.
