GIRARD — Developmental screening will be available the morning of Aug. 26 at the Haderlein Elementary School, Girard, for all children from birth to age 5 who may be in need of special education and related services in Crawford County.

GIRARD — Developmental screening will be available the morning of Aug. 26 at the Haderlein Elementary School, Girard, for all children from birth to age 5 who may be in need of special education and related services in Crawford County.

Vision, hearing, speech and developmental screenings will be conducted at no cost. This free screening will be sponsored by Southeast Kansas Interlocal 637 and the local school districts serving Pittsburg, Cherokee, Girard and Arma.

Appointments are necessary. Those wishing to schedule an appointment for children from birth to age 2 should call Chrissy O’Ferrell at 620-249-1700. Appointments for children aged 3-5 may be arranged by calling Jennifer Vaughn at 620-704-6330.
Next screening clinic will be held Oct. 7 at the Family Resource Center, Pittsburg.
