  • PCMS girls hoops still unbeaten

  • The PCMS eighth grade girls basketball team improved to 6-0 this season with a pair of wins this weekend in the SEK Tournament.



    Pittsburg defeated Chanute 24-14 in the semifinals behind the performance of Taylor Muff — 17 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Logan Lord added seven points and Caitlyn Burdick contributed three assists.

  • The PCMS eighth grade girls basketball team improved to 6-0 this season with a pair of wins this weekend in the SEK Tournament.
    Pittsburg defeated Chanute 24-14 in the semifinals behind the performance of Taylor Muff — 17 points, 11 rebounds and five steals. Logan Lord added seven points and Caitlyn Burdick contributed three assists.
    Pittsburg won the tournament with a 31-19 victory over host Parsons. Muff filled her stat sheet with 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals and Lord added 12 points and three assists. Malayna Brown and Jayden Hammond contributed to an assault on the glass with nine and eight rebounds, respectively. Caitlyn Burdick added three assists.
    The seventh grade defeated Chanute 22-16 in the semifinals but lost in the championship game to Independence. Madison Vogel led Pittsburg with nine points against Chanute and Abbie Casper had a team-high five against Indy.
    Pittsburg returns to its regular program tonight at home against Columbus, four contests (A & B) starting at 3:30 p.m.
    Wrestling
    The Pittsburg Wrestling Club will hold a parents meeting 6 p.m. tonight at PHS. Boys and girls ages 5-18 are eligible to join the Wrestling Club.
