Dr. William M. “Bill” Stauffer, 60, Parsons chiropractor, died at 1:50 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home.

Dr. William M. “Bill” Stauffer, 60, Parsons chiropractor, died at 1:50 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home.  He had been in failing health.
He was born August 17, 1952 in Lawrence to George W. and Nancy (Sumner) Stauffer.  The family moved to Ottawa when he was a small child and he grew up there, graduating from Ottawa High School in 1970.  While in high school he ran track and was a member of the Kansas state championship relay team.  He also enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball.
He graduated from Ottawa University in 1974 and taught math and science at Ottawa High School for seven years.  At Ottawa High he coached girls basketball and was assistant coach for football and track.   He then attended the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, graduating in 1988.   In October of 1990 he began his practice in Parsons.
Bill loved caring for his patients and his family.  He loved watching his grandson participate in sports activities.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parsons.
On May 22, 1972 he and Mary Baldwin Scribner were married in Lyndon.  Mary is a librarian in the Parsons Schools.

Daughter, Amy Gollhofer and her husband Seth, Pittsburg, Two grandchildren - Bryson Edward and Norah Grace, Brother, Andy Stauffer and his wife Cheryl, Ottawa, Sister, Bonnie Gilroy and her husband Greg, Ottawa, Mother-in-law, Joanne Scribner, Ottawa, Father-in-law, Loyd Scribner, Ottawa.
His parents preceded him in death.
There will be a visitation from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.  Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.
