Mary K. Spencer, 84, of Pittsburg, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Freeman Health Systems, Joplin, MO.



She was born October 21, 1927, at Pittsburg, KS, to Nick and Edna (Locke) Billionis. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School.

Mary K. Spencer, 84, of Pittsburg, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Freeman Health Systems, Joplin, MO.

She was born October 21, 1927, at Pittsburg, KS, to Nick and Edna (Locke) Billionis. She attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School.

On March 31, 1945, she was united in marriage to James L. “Dick” Spencer. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1991.
Mary was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Pittsburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Corn and her husband, Glen of Pittsburg, KS, and Kathy Spencer of Pittsburg, KS; two sons, Bob Spencer and his wife, Janie of Pittsburg, KS, and Dennis Spencer and his wife, Robin of Pittsburg, KS, a brother, Bob Billionis of Pittsburg, KS; two sisters, Irene Myers and her husband, Lon of Pittsburg, KS and Joyce Gorney of Broken Arrow, OK; and 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a cousin, Doris Dowty, two special friends, Dolly Puckett and Freda Clothier and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons Danny Spencer, and an infant son, three sisters, Cleo Smith, Athena Hite and an infant sister, Lorraine Billionis, and a granddaughter, Heather Huff.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Church of Christ, Pittsburg, with Tony Lalli officiating. Mrs. Spencer has been cremated. Private burial will take place at a later time. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday at the Church of Christ.
