Robert “Bob” A. Lewis, age 45, of Sedalia, MO, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, MO.
He was born September 13, 1963 in Fort Scott, KS, a son of Marvin S. and Lorena (Hopkins) Lewis, who survive in Girard. On May 2, 1992, in Sedalia, he was married to Angela Esquivel, who survives of the home.
He was raised and educated in Girard. He graduated from Girard High School in 1981. In 1985, he moved to Sedalia to work for Sutherlands as an assistant manager. He also worked as a night manager for Payless Cashways warehouse in Sedalia, and most recently was the manager of Rod’s Hallmark warehouse in Kansas City. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sedalia and served as a sound technician at the Celebration Center. He was a dedicated husband and father. Spending time with his family was of great importance to him.
Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Ruth Hopkins, and aunt, Dorothy Hopkins, both of Girard; his son, Tyler Lewis, of the home; a brother, Tom Lewis and his wife, Brenda, of Bradford, AR; a sister, Cheryl Hill and her husband, Charlie, of Uniontown, KS; three nephews, T.J. Lewis and his wife, Rebekah, of TX, Tim Lewis and his wife, Yaffah, of AR, and Josh Lewis and his wife, Rachael, of AR; two nieces, Rebekkah Lewis, of AR, and Jeanna Hill, of Uniontown, KS; and his mother and father in-law, Mary Ann and Bobby Wells, of Sedalia.
He was predeceased by a step-son, David Lange.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center, 1701 W. 32nd St., Sedalia, MO with the Rev. Jim Downing, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, Sedalia. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
