St. John's Regional Medical Center is planning several events in the month of October to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The goal of the events is to bring awareness to women in the four states about their risks and encourage them to get their annual mammogram to help with early detection of breast cancer.

October’s Events

October 1st – 31st     St. John’s glows PINK
--all building lights will be pink for the month

Pink Ribbon Tree
--pink ribbons for tree will be sold for $1
--proceeds benefit women who can’t afford the cost of a mammogram
 
Breast Cancer t-shirts will be sold
--proceeds benefit women who can’t afford the cost of a mammogram
   
October 1st – 31st     Every Friday employees will wear PINK

October 1st        Lighting Ceremony and Quilt Dedication
--light campus in pink for October
--Breast Cancer Awareness Quilt dedication
--candle lighting ceremony for survivors

October 11th        Columbus Days Parade
--Mobile Mammography Unit will participate

October 18th         Carthage Maple Leaf Parade
--Mobile Mammography Unit will participate
