Angela Neria, Pittsburg State University chief information officer, will present a program on “The Effect of Technology on Teaching” and “Security Tips.”

Betty Ward will be cashier, and Kathryn George will give the invocation. Greeter will be Sam Yoder.


Local 14, District 12, United Mine Workers of America, will have a monthly meeting at 1 p.m. at the Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 post home, 2815 N. Joplin.

The meeting will be open to all UMWA members.

Alpha Kappa Chapter

Alpha Kappa Chapter, Phi Tau Omega sorority, will have its October social, “Murder at the Disco,” at 6 p.m. at the Raymond Community Home, Girard.

Members are asked to bring finger foods. Dessert will be provided by hostesses Shelley Gromer and Joanne Paulie. Those attending are asked to RSVP to a hostess to be assigned a character name. Those unable to attend should also notify a hostess.

School skate

Frontenac school skate will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lowe’s Skateway.

Sperry-Galligar Audubon

Sperry-Galligar Audubon will meet at 7 p.m. in room 102, Yates Hall, Pittsburg State University.

Program will be presented by Delia Lister, who holds a bachelor of science in education and master of science in biology from Pittsburg State University and serves as director of PSU Nature Reach. She will present a virtual trip to the Peruvian rain forest with information about the culture and natural history of one of the most biodiverse places on this planet.

All SGA meetings are open free to the public. Refreshments will be served and a door prize will be given.
