Katie Christine Waltrip and Justin Alan Swezey were united in marriage on April 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pittsburg. Father Robert McElwee was celebrant.

The bride is the daughter of Ken and Vickie Waltrip. She is the granddaughter of Ed Herbeck and the late Ann Herbeck and the late Keyth and Flora Waltrip. Parents of the bridegroom are Toni Lovell and Tim Swezey.  He is the grandson of Walt and Jo Anne Swezey and the late Bob and Nancy Short.
Emily Hamilton , sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridal attendants were Stephanie Forbes, sister of the bride, Melissa Niegsch, Kylie Collier, Kyle Lallemand and Laura Bradfield.  Flower girl was Kendall Forbes, niece of the bride.
Nathan Wingebach served as best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Lallemand, Kyle Harryman, Eric VanBecelaere, and Justin Hamilton.  Bryson Hamilton, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.  Guests were seated by Jason Waltrip and Brad Waltrip, brothers of the bride.
Altar servers were Bridget Hughes and Ali Noyes. The gospel readings and petitions were read by Alison Kavanaugh, Pam Radell, and Sarah Smith.  Eucharistic gift bearers were Donna Pichler and Lynette Forth.  Guestbook attendants were Andrea VanBecelaere and Margie Hogue. Vocalists for the ceremony were Ken Waltrip and Jessie Swezey, sister of the groom.  Pianist was Jim Benson.  Violinists were Carol Cook and Kurt Duffy.  Sara Schneberger played the guitar.
Following the ceremony, dinner, catered by Pichler's Chicken Annie's, and dance was held at Dalton's Event Facility. Cake, designed by Kim Verga, was served by Judy Barde and Pat Waltrip, aunts of the bride. Flowers were designed by Kim Faucett Todd.  Photographer was Jill Hafner.
The bride has her bachelor's degree in FACS education and works as a substitute teacher in the Girard school district.  She is also employed at Pichler's Chicken Annie's.  The bridegroom is employed as a Lineman for Heartland Rural Electric Cooperative in Girard. The couple and their daughter, Molly, reside in Pittsburg.
