The Frontenac Youth Wrestling Club had a very good weekend prior to their Christmas break last week at Diamond, Mo.
The club took five wrestlers to the Diamond Open Tournament and all five came away with medals for finishing in the top three.
Brandon Mlekus came away with the lone championship after scoring a 3-0 record in the 10 and under 75-pound weight class.
Dylan Flora (10 under 90), Kyle Loy (12 under 140) and Kylan Dixon (12 under 140) all finished their tournament with 2-1 records to place second in their respective weight classes.
At 10 and under, Andrew Forrest also went 2-1 and placed third overall in his weight class.
On Dec. 21, all seven Frontenac wrestlers that competed in the Diamond Novice Tournament came away with medals.
Peyton Wilderman pinned all three of his opponents to go 3-0 in the 6 and under 35-pound weight class. Zach Sharp, at 8 and under 120 pounds, also defeated all three of his opponents by fall to claim the championship in his division.
Dylan Roedel (10 under 100), Noah Cleffman (10 under 60) and Matthew Buck (10 under 55) all finished the tournament placing second in their weight classes.
Dawson Meando (8 under 55) and Kolby Hall (8 under 60) both finished 1-2 in their three matches and brought home third-place in their respective weight classes.
