The Mayflower Clinic offers a full range of medical care for people who are between jobs or temporarily without health insurance, rather than the chronically unemployed or homeless.

Abdul Arif, a lawyer who is native of India, says the clinic is run by immigrants, many of whom are doctors. They include . cardiologists, oncologists and infectious-disease specialists who work in Wichita. They come from such countries as India, Pakistan, the Phillipines and Syria. Immigrant doctors also provide labwork.

And for most patients, the best part of the clinic is that the services are free.
