  • Robert “Bob” Willingham died June 19th 2013 at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Via Christi Hospital.

  • Robert “Bob” Willingham died June 19th 2013 at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Via Christi Hospital.
    He was born in Dequeen, AR the son of James and Gladys Willingham June 1, 1925.  He attended Pittsburg Schools and then served in the Navy in Hawaii and South Pacific as a diver on the Black Hawk.
    In 1945 he married Naomi Short; she preceded him in death on November 3, 1998.  On August 19th 2000 he and Mary Ann Makovich Lock were united in marriage, she survives of the home.
    He worked for Milwaukee Sausage in Seattle, WA and then in Las Vegas as a bartender at MGM and retired at the Horseshoe Casino.  He loved trout fishing and camping in Utah.
    He was preceded in death by his father, mother, five brothers Bill, Tom, Jim, Don and a baby brother Allen.
    He is survived by two daughters Sharon Kay Hiatt, Jeanne Fererrin of Las Vegas.  2 Grandsons Anthony and Bobby, 2 Great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter and one Granddaughter Ashley Melton; nieces Renne Hamilton, Linda and Susan and nephews Gregg and Paul Willingham.
    According to his wishes Bob has been taken for cremation and no services are planned at this time.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Midland Cremation Society Joplin, MO.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Memorials may be sent to the Midland Cremation Society 1515 W. 10th Ste. B Joplin, MO 64801.
