  • Richard “Dick” White, 84, of Parsons, died at his home early Saturday, June 29, 2013. Death was unexpected.

  • Richard “Dick” White, 84, of Parsons, died at his home early Saturday, June 29, 2013. Death was unexpected.
    He was born December 1, 1928, in McCune, to Joseph Murel and Iro Pearl White. He grew up in McCune and graduated from McCune High School.  
    On June 6, 1949 he and Elizabeth “Betty” Parsons were married in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They continued living in McCune until moving to Parsons in 1980. Betty preceded him in death on July 15, 2007.
    Dick was employed for over 40 years by National Labs in Parsons.  He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
    Survivors include a son, Chris White and his wife Linda, Rockport, Texas; a daughter, Cindy Henderson and her husband Bob, Coffeyville; four grandchildren, Hayley Crawford and her husband Don, Rene Arthur and her husband Paul, Whitnie Gordanier and her husband Nicholas, and Ryan White; and a great-granddaughter, Alexis Crawford.
    Preceding him in death was his wife; a son, Larry White; and an infant daughter, Christy Jo.
    Memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, in the Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons.  The service will conclude at the funeral home and  innurnment will be in the McCune Cemetery.
