Dr. Frank M. and Mrs. Anna M. Slapar of Pittsburg will observe their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 13, 2013.
Dr. Frank M. and Mrs. Anna M. Slapar of Pittsburg will observe their 60th Wedding Anniversary on June 13, 2013. They plan on celebrating the occasion later this summer when all their children and grandchildren will be able to attend. Anna May McElwain and Frank Milton Slapar were married on June 13, 1953 at the Osage Church of the Brethren of rural McCune. Dr. Slapar is a retired teacher/professor having taught secondary and community college mathematics and physics courses in the Hutchinson area for 20 years as well as technical teacher education courses at Pittsburg State University for 21 years. He retired from PSU in 1999. Mrs. Slapar was a homemaker, a Multi-tasking Operations Manager (MOM), a school secretary, and worked in various other positions as well as volunteering for various organizations. Dr. Slapar has a BS and MS from Pittsburg State University and a Ph. D. from Colorado State University. Mrs. Slapar has an AA from Hutchinson Community College and a BA from McPherson College. The couple have four children and four grandchildren: Dr. Larry and Mrs. Debbie Slapar of Wichita, KS; Dr. Lonnie and Mrs. Connie Slapar and their three children; Jessica, Frank, and William Slapar of Rochester, NY;
Lynette and Dan Schmidt of Prairie Village, KS, Lloyd and Nikki Slapar and their daughter Kylar Slapar of Topeka, KS.
