A TV soap opera producer decides to host a murder mystery party at his mansion and the evening takes a deadly turn in “13 Past Midnight,”  a comedy  scheduled at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary’s/Colgan High School.
Alice Hilt is director of this great-looking production, which features an excellent set, impeccable costumes, make-up and hair styles and a fine job of acting by the cast.
Andrew O’Malley is producer Victor Winslow, who gathers his soap opera cast and crew together at his home for the evening. He announces that the soap, “Hold Back the Night,” will be the basis for a new murder mystery game called “13 Past Midnight.” He also reveals that he plans on firing certain members of the show’s cast and crew, as well as dumping his wife, Kathryn, played by Erin Farmer.
It comes as no surprise that Victor winds up dead for real. The real trick is to figure out who didn’t want the creep dead.
Cast members include Kathleen Sanders as Brenda the maid; Jonathan Wolfe as Durward the butler; Katy Spence as Lila Lamont, gossip columnist; Haley Mullinex as Toni Crawford, soap opera star; Olivia Towner as Eve Fulton, head soap opera writer; Jared Mazurek as Skyler Trent, soap opera star; Maggie Stuckey as Allison Trent, his wife; Donald Laforte as Talbert Worthington, an older character actor on the show who has a great scene when he tries to bash open a child-proof medicine bottle with his cane; Kathy Bland, terrific as Louise Burke, older character actress who plays Talbert’s TV wife; Austin VanBecelaere as Chad Martin, soap opera juvenile lead; Caroline Deats as Zara Dare, soap opera ingenue who just might be the next Mrs. Victor Winslow; David Patterson as Gary Anderson, soap opera director; Kathryn Wolfe as Maureen O’Malley, cook; and Ben Mazurek as Pete Griffin, private investigator who has to find the murderer before he or she strikes again.
