Nick Whetzell pitched a no-hitter and struck out five as the St. Mary’s-Colgan junior varsity baseball team blanked Baxter Springs 15-0 in the first game of a doubleheader at JayCee Ballpark on Tuesday.

The Panthers followed up with a solid combined pitching effort from Aaron Snow and Tyler Jeck to shut down the Lions 11-0 in the second game to run their record to 6-0 on the season.
In game one, Nate Arnold and Dylan Mjelde each had a triple while Adam Barnes added a double for Colgan.
In the second game Snow and Jeck combined to strike out nine and give up just two hits in the win.
Jeck and Danny Villamaria each had a double in the winning effort for the Panthers.
Colgan will travel to Erie for a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
