Brandon Schartz, son of Richard and Diane Schartz, Miami, Okla., was among 121 men and women from 28 states and four foreign nations who were awarded doctor of medicine degrees during commencement exercises May 22 at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md.

Brandon Schartz, son of Richard and Diane Schartz, Miami, Okla., was among 121 men and women from 28 states and four foreign nations who were awarded doctor of medicine degrees during commencement exercises May 22 at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md.
Schartz is the grandson of the Rev. Elmer and Betty Cox and the late Robert Moss, all of Miami, and Richard and Jody Schartz, Pittsburg.
He is a 2001 graduate of Miami High School, and was valedictorian for his class. Schartz earned a bachelor of science with summa cum laude honors from Pittsburg State University in 2004.
Prior to entering his residency, Schartz will continue his education this fall in pursuit of a master of business administration degree.
