Pittsburg Police Officers responded at 8:50 p.m. Sunday to 718 E. Eighth St. to check the welfare of a small child at the residence.

Pittsburg Police Officers responded at 8:50 p.m. Sunday to 718 E. Eighth St. to check the welfare of a small child at the residence.

Officers arrived and made contact with the resident, Holly Lorenzo, 22. While checking the welfare of the child, officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the house.

Lorenzo was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment. Her husband, Mateo Lorenzo, 18, was arrested a short time later and charged with the same offenses.

Both were transported to the Crawford County Jail, where their bonds were set at $4,000 each. The 2-year-old child was taken into police protective custody. The incident is still under investigation.
