Kiwanis Club

Pittsburg Kiwanis Club will meet at noon in dePaul Hall, Via Christi Hospital. Program will be presented by Kevin Muff, Pittsburg State University head men’s basketball coach.

Lea Anita Lemmons will be greeter, and Wiley Lemmons will serve as cashier. Sherry Strecker will give the invocation.

UMWA
Local 14, District 12, United Mine Workers of America, will have a monthly meeting at the Pittsburg American Legion Post 64 post home, 2815 N. Joplin.  All UMWA members may attend.

Elks dinner
Elks Lodge 412 will have a dinner at the lodge.
Carry-out orders may be placed by calling 232-1460 and can picked up at 5:30 p.m.  Serving for those wishing to dine in will follow at 6 p.m.    
Menu will feature brisket, scalloped potatoes, green beans, dessert and coffee or tea. Cost will be $8 per person.

Alzheimer’s issues
Alzheimer’s Association will present a program on legal issues from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg Public Library.
Bob Tomassi, attorney, will explore the various legal concerns and needs that arise throughout the course of Alzheimer’s disease. Issues explored will include durable power of attorney, guardianship, conservatorship, patient rights, division of assets and living wills.

TOPS KS 0884 meets every Thursday at Knights of Columbus Towers, 700 N. Pine.
Weigh-in will begin at 9 a.m., with the business session following at 9:30 a.m.

Frontenac American Legion Post 43 will sponsor bingo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Frontenac Senior Citizens Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
