Three Pittsburg residents were injured in a single vehicle accident last Friday and another person was involved in a single vehicle accident but declined treatment the same day.

The first accident occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday. According to the accident report from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, Pittsburg resident Jie Di, 24, was driving southbound on 260th Street with passengers Hexuan Sun, 24, and Guangei Zhang, 22, when Jie swerved to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle. Jie overcorrected the vehicle, a 2004 Infinity FX45, and collided with a railroad traffic control device at the nearby railroad tracks. The vehicle came to rest in the east ditch.

Di, Sun and Zhang were all transported by Crawford County EMS to Via Christi Hospital with unspecified but “moderate” injuries. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department, Baker Fire Department and Empire Electric also responded to the accident.

The second accident occurred at the intersection of 510th Ave. and 90th Street. McCune Nathan McGuire, age not specified, was northbound on 90th Street when he lost control of the 2000 Chevy S-10 he was driving and entered the north ditch of 510th Ave., rolling over once. McGuire was properly restrained, was able to exit the vehicle under his own power and declined treatment or transport by Crawford County EMS.
