A luxurious red carpet, exciting paparazzi, and numerous sparkling stars are being completed as decorative components in preparation for the 2012 Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom this Saturday, March 31.

The theme for this year’s prom, “A Red Carpet Affair,” was Taylor Evans’ idea. The Junior Class, who is in charge of this event under the direction of sponsors Christen Jackson and Jeremiah Hudson, voted on and selected this theme.

“The Junior Class is very enthusiastic about putting on the upcoming prom. I have had an overwhelming number of students who are constantly asking ‘What can I do to help?’ They have been putting things together, painting and preparing almost every day for a couple of months. We are just ready to get into the gym and set things up. I am very proud of their hard work so far,” said Mrs. Jackson.

The promenade is at 5:30 p.m., and Mr. Hudson will serve as announcer.

The banquet will follow at 6:30 p.m. with a menu consisting of steak, baked potatoes, salad and a layered chocolate cake for dessert. Dietician Mary Twarog and the cafeteria staff will prepare the food.

FX Studios will take pictures before and during the dance, which will begin at 8 p.m. with Mike Lyons as DJ.

All students and their dates are invited to attend the After-Prom Party held at St. Michael’s Catholic Hall following the dance.
